A sprawling generational story of a father's separation from his family after he's kidnapped by the North Koreans and the impact that has on his wife and daughter (they believe he has drowned).
I think I benefitted enormously by listening to this on audiobook - a lot of goodread reviews said it was too long. I didn't feel that at all. I was riveted throughout.
