What to expect

Brought to you by Penguin.

This is a book for anyone who feels overwhelmed by life and is looking for an accessible and gentle way to care for their home - and themselves.

Have you ever looked at a pile of dishes in the sink and wanted to crawl back into bed? Or found yourself staring at the overflowing recycling bin thinking, Why is my life such a mess?

But what if we stopped seeing a clean house as a reflection of our worth and instead as a kindness to our future self?

How to Keep House While Drowning will introduce you to six life-changing principles to revolutionise the way you approach domestic work, all without a single to-do list. Most importantly, it will help you get free of shame and guide you in coping with stress... and that ever-mounting laundry pile.

This book will help you:

· Find ways to make your home serve you
· Break down domestic work into manageable tasks
· Stop negative self-talk around housework
· Give yourself permission to rest, even when things aren't finished

Critics Review

An honest and compassionate exploration of the many traps that leave us feeling like we’ve failed, How to Keep House While Drowning is filled with hard-won advice that will change the way you view your space, your habits, and (most importantly) yourself.

Liz Fosslien & Mollie West Duffy, authors of No Hard Feelings and Big Feelings

A kind and understanding book to help us all feel a little better about ourselves and how we live. KC Davis’s thoughtful approach to self-care for everybody comes at a time when the importance of “fair rest” feels more pressing than ever.

My error as I misinterpreted the title. I thought it was about drowning in life (in the UK u2018sort your house outu2019 is colloquial for sort your life out). My house is fine as Iu2019m a declutter freak; itu2019s the rest of life that needs sorted. This is the reason I didnu2019t continue with the book after the first few chapters.
