Lindsey Kelk writes an escapist series of books for women called the ‘I heart’ series… following this coined phrase are various cities such as New York, Hollywood, Paris and now Vegas.
Lindsey Kelk worked originally in the publishing industry and recounts her rather unusual experience of the ‘How do I get published’ road which frankly, normally ends up at a dead end without an agent.
After being told by an agent that her name sounded like a cat being sick (charming!) Lindsey found other avenues to go down to get her first book ‘I heart New York’ on the shelves. When listening to this telephone interview you’ll realise that you don’t always need the same old formula to get a book published, both in your style of writing within a competitive genre and getting out there, giving a book the exposure it deserves.
