The baby is dead. It took only a few seconds.
When Myriam, a brilliant lawyer, decides to return to work, she and her husband look for a nanny for their two young children. They never dreamed they would find Louise: a quiet, polite and devoted woman who sings to their children, cleans the family's chic Paris apartment, stays late without complaint and hosts enviable birthday parties. But as the couple and their nanny become more and more dependent on each other, jealousy, resentment and suspicions increase, until Myriam and Paul's idyllic domesticity is shattered . . .

Excellent read. A harrowing story which takes the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions both with the plot and the characters.
With hugely descriptive text (but not overly so) the excellent narration tells the story of the nanny, the middle class parents of two young children and the latter's ultimate fate. The proponent is identified at the very beginning but then the story weaves the undoing of the psychologically disturbed individual to the very last page. You'll struggle to put this book down! And the narration is first class. Clear, paced and no silly male and female voices either!Thorouglly recommend.lazyreader123 2023-10-01
