What to expect
Keyana Armstrong
After a failed six–year relationship, the idea of commitment and marriage is unwelcome, and dating is the furthest thing on my mind. I’ve spent months hidden in the solitude that my position as a head librarian provides. All was going well until he walked in, shattering the quiet solace of the house of books I thrive in, causing my body to tingle in unimaginable ways. He has an unfiltered tongue and is hellbent on breaking the chains barricading my splintered heart.
Tyshawn Carrington
Once one of the best safeties in the league, my life took an unexpected turn after a career–ending injury. I didn’t have a backup plan because I never saw myself leaving the game so soon. All I know is the game of football. At the urging of my parents, I returned to the place that has always grounded me—my hometown. Boredom led me to an unlikely place—the public library. Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I entered the building and saw her. The jolt she gave to my system may give my life new meaning after all.
Can the slick–talking former safety and the reserved librarian find common ground? Or will their differences keep them on opposite sides of the field?
