Looking for a change from police procedural books ,I saw this was described by xigxag as being horror and supernatural.However it turned out to be police procedural with the usual anti authority characters coupled with ineffectual bosses. The main character is on leave whilst undergoing a disciplinary procedure,but she continues to investigate ,why she isn't sacked I don't know .Also her fiancee is the most boring character in the book. About halfway through things improve and I quite enjoyed it.
