All the Jo Nesbo books are superb. They're all heart-poundingly suspenseful, and often stomach-churning in their description of evil, but Police is arguably the novel which ups the level of all the sensations. This book is exhilarating from start to finish. It is what critics sometimes refer to as "unputdownable". Nesbo is the best thriller writer in the world, bar none. His writing is matched by the astounding brilliance of Sean Barrett's narration.
