What to expect

An incriminating love-letter from the Queen of Ruritania to Rudolph Rassendyll, the hero of The Prisoner of Zenda, is intercepted by the dastardly villain Rupert of Hentzau, who is intent on causing trouble for the Royal Family. Critics Review

Rufus Wright’s reading of the sequel, Rupert of Hentzau, centres on the villain of the earlier piece. Interestingly darker than Zenda, it draws a more complex picture of Rudolf and Rupert and raises ambiguous moral issues. Great escapist listening.
