Now Sally must decide how far she’s willing to go to secure a perfectly predictable life. Is an ideal future worth ignoring the present—or regretting the past?

I absolutely loved this book! It made me both laugh out loud and cry on multiple occasions. The voice actress was PHENOMENAL and did an incredible job with the comedic timing of Sara George’s perfectly witty humor. The way her voice broke during the emotional parts was so extremely impressive. It was a beautifully immersive experience!

Wow. I’m not sure what I was expecting but that was so good! The wording is great and the story line is perfect and slightly frustrating haha. I don’t like to watch people self sabotage let alone read about it. And the book definitely puts you through all the feels. It was also an interesting view for one particular scene. It can take a lot for me to cry and there are just a handful of scenes where I was crying because they where beautiful moments. I really enjoy this book.

My girl, Sara, KNOWS romance! The banter was bantering as per usual. Sara George’s writing is so clever and her books are both hysterical and emotional.
This fmc was irritating me to my core but it definitely made this book more fun lol
I was a little concerned about the tarot reading aspect of the book bc I typically steer clear of that sort of thing, but Sara assured me it was a minor issue to help move the plot and she was right, it wasn’t a big focus.brookleascleanreads 2026-08-25 -

Sara does it again!!! I absolutely LOVED this story! That ending made all the times I wanted to jump into this book and shake some sense into Sally worth it!
This story just had such a unique premise and honestly just a unique story. As much as Sally was driving me absolutely insane at times 😅 I could understand why she felt like she had to make the choices she was making. This story really put me through it with wondering how it was gonna actually work out in the end but I really enjoyed this story so so much!
It has a great cast of characters! I feel like I can’t share more without sharing spoilers so I’ll just have to leave it here and just say I just loved the slow burn and how well he treats and cares for her!
Here’s one of my favorite quotes
“Of course I’m all in.” It’s terrifying to admit. But if I’m gonna free fall, I want to be strapped in with him.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story, it was well done and enjoyable to listen to!

What a great read! It was so much more than just a fun modern romance. I was surprised at all the deep conversations it lead me to have with my family. I was telling them about Sally's trials and asking them how they would want to move in similar situations. As frustrated as I got with Sally's struggle to change it made me reflect on how hard it's been for me to make certain changes in my life.

Setting a goal, and striving for it are admirable qualities. But singlemindedness in their pursuit can be dangerous. Sally is psychic, she can see her future with other people when she shakes their hands. As an aged-out orphan, Sally is so lonely and desperately wants a relationship. When she discovers one is on the horizon, she pursues it as if her life depends upon it. And she’s terrified of anything that she cannot predict or that could lead her astray from her goal. The question is what might she miss along the way? Could it be more valuable than what she’s aiming for? And what part of herself is she jeopardizing along the way? Fear of losing her way starts to take a serious toll. And we the reader get so wrapped up in her journey that even we don’t see what she has become. Fortunately, all along the way there are sweet love stories unfolding as well. This is a far deeper story than the rather silly title and fluffy cover would indicate. And that’s my sole complaint about this compelling and well-written book. The narrator is spot on with the characters, especially Sally’s best friend and mentor, an agoraphobic older woman who runs a fortune teller business out of her apartment and sometimes slips into fake Romanian. Highly recommended.
