This isn't my thoughts on this audiobook, rather the series - Apocalypse Revisited. That is, System Fall 1, 2 & 3.

Firstly, the actual series has 5 books, but the last two haven't been made into audio books it seems. Amazon kindle have the last two, but in kindle format, not audible. Like xigxag, they have the first 3 in audiobook format, but more expensive than xigxag. So, be prepared to either miss out on the end, or actually 'read' the last two if you have the time.

The genre is "Systems" / LitRPG or simply fantasy. For those not accustomed to the Systems style of story, think of a person who has an In-Built games system, where they can gain experience points, level up, gain new abilities etc. by doing different things / tasks / reaching accomplishments etc in the 'game'. It's all probably aimed towards teens and young adults. I am an old adult, but like these occasionally to escape realities and sensibilities. You can listen to them and not have to think too hard :)

The world has been turned upside down, absolute dystopia where it really is survival of the fittest. A super being from who knows where, with a thirst for fighting and people hating monsters, completely changed the world as we know it. But, for Nick, our hero of the book, this is his second time doing this. And this time he has one goal... To destroy the Admin (the super being) and put an end to the madness. To do this though, he must progress quickly through the power levels to become strong enough to face the Admin, his managers and others that side with the Admin.

I listened to the three audiobooks and would have gone onto the others, but as I said, there is only the 3 in audiobook format (at time of writing).

I do have to say that I nearly gave up during the very first chapter. Maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't having a good day at the time, maybe it wast what I had expected. Even the narration was annoying me in that first chapter. I'm not sure, but I tell you this so you know if you feel the same, give it to at least the end of chapter 2 before deciding if it's for you. I was glad that I continued with it. The first chapter is a little different as it starts with the end of Nick's first time in System Fall, and the rest of the series is all about his second attempt.

There is a lot of violence throughout, but as it's all total fantasy, it doesn't feel like real violence, more like killing things in a game app.
