Wow! A wonderful pirates adventure, funny, fierce, breathtaking. Our protagonist is a mother in her mid 40s and a heroine that experienced fills a hole in my heart. I never want to read of strong adventurous 18 year olds again! The audio book not only narrates the story as is, but has our heroine tell her story herself and sometimes arguing with the scribe who is listening in, while she is speaking into the microfone. This extra layer of narration let me chuckle through the story.
With this story I spent some time on the Indian Ocean in medieval times before colonization and it is refreshing diving into a story, where eurocentrism as it is today does not exist.
