After The Book of My Enemy, Clive James emerged as one of the most prominent poets of his generation. Continuing the broad thematic scope and dazzling technical accomplishment of the first volume, this audio performance is a real treasure for fans and newcomers alike.
'Clive James is a true poet' – Peter Porter, London Review of Books
Critics Review
-
Clive James is a true poet. Line after line of his has a characteristic personal tone, a kind of end-stopped singingness which is almost independent of what it says.
