This book is as laugh-out-loud funny as you’d expect, but it’s also packed with super-charged thrills, characters you really care about and a whole lot of heart. I think The Boy With Wings is the start of something really special.

Apart from getting picked on by school bullies, Tunde is an ordinary boy – so why do his mum and dad insist he must never run, or do sports? When a mysterious peril threatens Earth and Tunde suddenly sprouts wings, everything starts to become clear. Hilarious and heartfelt.

Henry's first book for children is as funny as might be expected but it's also quietly thoughtful and poignant, examining ideas of heritage, family, love and belonging in a way that lifts the Chosen One troupe out of the territory of cliché.

It's a delightful romp of a tale - addressing issues of racism, diversity and refugees face on.

The book is emotional and thought-provoking. It’s a booster breeze with a winged superhero who runs faster than Usain Bolt, jumps higher than Michael Jordan and scores better goals than Marcus Rashford. It’s a fast-paced adventure with video game-like qualities that will have you immersed with all the baked treats of a Masterchef getting the ingredients wrong. Watch out for the magpies as they have very sharp beaks and the flying feline cats. What more can you want from a read? This book is a feast for the senses and one of the best books of the year.
