What to expect
Detective Lana Cohen thought she had found a slice of peace on the sun-drenched Gold Coast, but her respite is shattered when a severed hand is found on a local beach.
As the investigation unfolds, Lana is thrust into an uneasy partnership with an off-the-rails Internal Investigations cop 'Miami' Vince Walters, and a mysterious Melbourne private investigator Ewan Hayes. It soon becomes clear the new casino is bustling with shady types willing to lose it all, the glitzy shopping centres are rife with shoplifting and the gaudy nightlife is still full of corruption and drugs.
The Casino is a thrilling journey into a world where the stakes are deadly, and trust is the ultimate gamble.
'tense and compelling' GARRY DISHER, author of Bitter Wash Road and Consolation on The Strip
'Refracting the grim spirit of noir through 1980s Queensland is a natural move, and Ryan launches into building a glitzy, violent and meretricious underworld with flair.' SYDNEY MORNING HERALD on The Dream
'an incredible page-turner. Everybody has secrets, nobody is untainted by corruption, and even the "good guys" are bad. Perfect for fans of Garry Disher, Adrian McKinty and Peter Temple' -BOOKS + PUBLISHING on The Dream
