Synopsis
Rin Yamada, a struggling writer, wakes up to find himself trapped inside his own failed novel—The Emperor's False Consort. But instead of arriving as the protagonist, he's been reincarnated as Prince Kael Varenth, the story's doomed anti-hero who is sentenced to death for treason. In his own writing, Kael dies at the hands of Emperor Aldric Varenth, his former lover, now turned ruthless ruler. But faced with execution, Rin refuses to accept his fate. Using his knowledge of the plot, he fights to change his destiny and uncover the true traitor behind the empire's downfall—Duke Reynard Hale. However, rewriting fate won't be easy. The court is a nest of vipers, Aldric is colder and more dangerous than Rin imagined, and his own survival may depend on rekindling the emperor's lost love—without losing himself in the process. As enemies close in and betrayal lurks in every corner, Rin must play the most dangerous game of all: Win the emperor's trust—or die trying.
