Loved this! It took me a little while to get into the story as the narration looped around between the various different characters in a seemingly random way. Luckily I persisted, and was soon drawn into the story and deeply involved with all the characters, who are beautifully drawn. I loved the way the narrative linked all the disparate elements and wove them all together in a wonderful story. I also enjoyed learning about what life must have been like for immigrants to the USA in the first half of the twentieth century.

Finally, I loved the ending, which moved me to tears. A beautiful, heartwarming tale of the way our lives are woven together and the power of community. Highly recommended.
