The Rise and Fall of Kyle and Jackie O

Synopsis

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson were the undisputed rulers of the airwaves until it all came crashing down. In this unmissable account, journalist Matthew Denby speaks to insiders, outsiders, hangers-on and media powerbrokers as he rips open the seams of a pair long considered the most stitched together in radio. This is the story of a self-confessed Queensland bogan and a Sydney sophisticate who made the unlikeliest, but most lucrative, pairing in Australian radio and TV history - until they just couldn't stand each other any longer. Matthew Denby has spent years working in the Australian celebrity media, with a front-row seat to all the industry's blow-ups. He has seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in the entertainment industry - and knows where all the big secrets are buried. In this fascinating book he not only covers the headline-grabbing break-up between Kyle and Jackie O, but speaks to those in the know and those who've known the pair best - but not always for the best. With contributions from key figures in the gilded celebrity world where the duo have long reigned supreme, Denby looks at what went very, very right with Kyle and Jackie O, and then what went extraordinarily wrong.
