In my opinion, It started a little slow, but it certainly picked up. Just like book 1, it was very well written and narrated (same narrator). Thought it didn't have the feel as being as fast moving and exciting as the first book. This book had it's own 'feel', different to "The Final Empire" but was definitely a continuation of that story. What it did do, was ride your emotions, it felt like a rollercoaster, as if an alomancer was soothing and rioting your emotions in turn throughout the story.

The ending though, I didn't expect that, but I suppose there needed to be a book 3, so it didn't end as I would have hoped / liked.

Of course, I now have book 3. I have to know...
