What to expect
"Like a Hallmark movie set in a Scottish castle!"
It's been a long time since Rilla Clark came home to the little cottage in the grounds of the beautiful castle of Applemore . . .
The lights of the harbor twinkle against the snowy background of the mountains, the streets are full of old familiar faces, there's a hot chocolate waiting by a welcoming fire at the Applemore Hotel . . .
And her teenage crush Lachlan Fraser is back in town.
As the new Laird of Applemore, Lachlan has inherited a storybook castle, deep in the pines overlooking the distant islands—but it's seen better days—the roof leaks, and the winter wind whistles at the doors. His sisters Beth, Charlotte, and Polly want him to hold onto Applemore House—but selling the castle would give his sisters a fair share of the inheritance.
The solution seems clear—until Rilla turns up, and with her a second chance at happiness. Leaving the small town just got a lot more complicated . . .
