This Crimson Ruin

Synopsis

With thrilling steampunk action and swoon-worthy sapphic romance, This Crimson Ruin is a propulsive adventure following Nix and Kessandra, trapped in an underwater city and fighting monsters and time itself. From Sunday Times bestselling author Rebecca Thorne. Some depths were never meant to be explored . . . When Sergeant Nix Marr signed up as her ex’s bodyguard for a trip to the domed city of Fall, she doubted she’d return alive. But neither woman could have predicted the cataclysmic event that stranded them both beneath the ocean.Worse, Fall has been completely abandoned, the once-grand city now a ghost town in ruins. Aside from the occasional feral citizen, turned inhuman by a devastating infection, the city is eerily empty. And as Nix and Kessandra hunt for clues, Nix finds her fight for survival turning inward as a malicious entity attempts to tear her own humanity apart. With Fall’s iconic dome flooding and every answer creating more questions, the pair may have to descend deeper than they ever imagined to survive.Welcome to Fall. This Crimson Ruin is the second instalment in The Titan's Wrath Trilogy, perfect for fans of Arcane, BioShock and Tamsyn Muir's The Locked Tomb series. * * *Praise for This Gilded Abyss, book one:‘Lesbians versus zombies on a steam-punk Titanic . . . seriously addictive, dark and bitingly well-written’– Grimdark Magazine‘Intense, thrilling and with a compelling romance subplot that never detracts from the action'– The Fantasy Hive‘Dark, twisty madness will unfold . . . and I just adored Nix and Kess'– FanFiAddict'This blood-soaked SFF novel grabbed me from the first page and still hasn’t let go since I finished it'– Reader review'The twists shocked me and the romance was captivating, a slow burn second chance with a lot of tension'– Reader reviewRebecca Thorne’s Can’t Spell Treason without Tea was a Sunday Times bestseller w/c 06/05/2024
