Narrator Angela Dawe brings the listener along as a romance develops between them. Halley is scarred from a traumatic childhood in foster care before she was rescued by a wealthy aunt. Dawe conveys the emotional scars that Halley still bears. The listener will fall in love with Kane as he comes to care for Halley and help her work through her past. The cast of characters ranges from Halley’s young nephew to Kane’s gruff father and Halley’s scheming mother. Dawe provides a unique voice for each. Listeners can look forward to Halley’s sister’s romance in the future.”
