What to expect
'A stunning fantasy debut steeped in mystery, betrayal, and powerful magic' - Alexis Henderson, author of The Year of the Witching and An Academy for Liars
****
A WITCH FATED TO RISE.
A TRUCE ABOUT TO CRUMBLE.
ONE WOMAN TO STAND BETWEEN PEACE AND RUIN.
As the youngest daughter of the Prime of the New Orleans witches, Seraphine Berreau should have been her family's crowning jewel. Instead, she was their shameful secret - feared for her deadly power to feed on magic and make it her own.
When her mother dies, the title of Prime unexpectedly passes to Phine, forcing her to return to the city she fled ten years ago. But between an alpha werewolf ex, power-hungry vampires, and a parasitic curse poisoning witches, Phine has her work cut out for her.
To save her people, Phine must rise and embrace her duty, earn the respect of those who once shunned her, and confront the monsters both within her city - and within her past.
A reclusive witch reclaims her power in Witch Queen Rising, the dark, decadent, and haunting fantasy x horror from Savannah Stephens, and the first book in the Blood and Magic duology. Perfect for fans of Anne Rice and The Originals TV series.

-
An utterly delicious blend of magic and family dynamics set within the rich history and mystery of New Orleans. With characters fully realized and a personal tragedy that colors every page, Stephens skillful writing brings everything to a satisfying, full circle, proving again that you can't live apart from your past, and that sometimes you have to risk all and trust the untrustable in order to survive
Kim Harrison, No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of THREE KINDS OF LUCKY

Witch Queen Rising is a fantastical novel, perfect for readers who want to immerse themselves in the world of witches and their paranormal friends - and enemies. This debut, equal parts enthralling and frightening, sets you squarely in the magical city of New Orleans. Phine is the outcast protagonist whose compelling story is complicated by all manner of threats, betrayals, and lost love. I cannot wait for the second book of this duology and what's sure to be a spellbinding conclusion!

Stephens's beautifully atmospheric debut will appeal to readers who enjoy strong women characters and luxurious fantasy worlds
