Destructive flash floods sweep through the mountains with such terrifying speed that they can erase a family in an instant. In this land, survival depends on the strength of one’s shelter and an unwavering faith in the divine force known as The One.It has been generations since the true origins of the land's great relics were openly spoken of, but their legacy remains in items like the jeweled sword Wleia carries—a mysterious heirloom she can neither wield nor abandon. Once a woman of great faith, she now struggles to find purpose as a refugee in her own home. Yet, she possesses a rare and sacred gift: she was born a Scribe, a keeper of truth in times of great distress. As her village divides between those who would fight and those who flee, Wleia is left behind to face the coming winter alone. Her solitude is shattered by the arrival of a beautiful, bleeding stranger: Queen Alanna Bear-Claw. Fleeing a web of greed and destiny, the Queen carries secrets that only a Scribe can preserve.A story of resilience, divine protection, and the convergence of two mothers’ fates, Wleia’s Story is the opening movement of an atmospheric new fantasy. It is a bold introduction to a world where a single recorded word—and a hidden sword—can change the course of history.
