Dave Davies is a British musician, songwriter and author who co-founded the Kinks, one of the most influential bands in rock history. Born in 1947 in Muswell Hill, London, Davies is celebrated for creating the pioneering distorted guitar sound on the Kinks' 1964 hit You Really Got Me, a riff that is widely credited with helping to invent heavy metal and punk rock. Living on a Thin Line is his memoir, taking its title from one of his most beloved songs, which has gained renewed fame through its use in the television series Peaky Blinders. The book chronicles his life in one of Britain's greatest bands, his complex relationship with his brother Ray Davies, his spiritual journey and the personal struggles that accompanied decades of fame. Davies writes with candour and reflection about the highs and lows of a life in music. His audiobooks and books offer fans and music lovers an intimate and unvarnished account of life inside one of rock's most important and turbulent bands.
