Fascinating to get an idea of how "life at the top" is actually no better (and often much worse) than life for the rest of us.

You won't be surprised that this is an eye-opener of a book even for the jaded among us. However, there's loads of charm and empathym even as her idealism fades. Her account of Mark moving from a shy, awkward, and misanthropic coder to someone who wields power like a toddler with a club is fascinating. Worth a read

One of the most important books I've ever digested. It's compellingly written and read by the author, that led me, with humane insight, through the wild culture of misdemeanours and thoughtlessness as normal practice at Facebook, leading to terrifying and murderous outcomes.

I already believed Facebook was evil. They are significantly worse than I thought.

An insightful and disturbing glimpse into the inner workings of Facebook. The author often depicts herself as the only sane person in a room of amor people, yet she worked in that environment for years, and only came forward after being fired.
I listened to it in a day and found it very compelling, but would have appreciated more transparency from the author about her role and potential complicity. I cannot help but think that a rational person would have left the company far earlier.

I picked up this book expecting to find known but difficult to prove on balance claims about net effect on teens well being, but was swept away but this very relatable and compelling narrative of Meta political coming of age.

This is a really important book and I am grateful to the author for both compiling and reading it to us. It could not have been easy.

Before, I could not care less about apparently careless Mark and company, but I am now seriously concerned. Being a technologist I felt I could have explained some missteps with cliché arguments about dual use and learning curve but with this account the level of culpability is hard to deny. Especially that Meta appears to be suing the author for breaking non disparagement rather than defamation. Given the top lawyers Meta can afford this response is damning in itself.

And again many thanks to the author for putting herself on the line.

A searing expose of Facebook.

This book is fascinating, engaging, entertaining. Well written and well read, it is also hugely informative.

An eye opening read from a former senior employee at Facebook. Shocking stories & insights that demonstrate what the platform & the company is capable of. A page turner & great narration. A bargain in the xigxag app & made my train & car journeys fly by

A worrying indictment of how big tech companies operate and their careless disregard for the truth. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to know what’s really going on and how our data is being used to manipulate us.

Quite interesting, some parts where better than others, overall pretty solid

I both enjoyed and was horrified by the insider story of working at Facebook. Well worth listen.

Great listen. Sarah Wynn-Williams does a brilliant job on the narration telling a fascinating and sometimes darkly funny tale of her time at Facebook. I enjoyed (possibly not the right word) the unexpected shark anecdote too. Wasn't expecting that!
