Synopsis
Christmas 1942. It's almost two years since Land Girl, Flo Butterworth, lost her family in the Manchester Christmas Blitz. Since then, she's rebuilt her life in Great Plumstead and even found her voice in the village singing group. However, a request to perform a concert of Christmas carols for patients at the local hospital stirs up bad memories for Flo. Will she ever be able to fully celebrate Christmas again? VAD nurse, Evie Jones, is faced with a dilemma that throws her life into turmoil and threatens to ruin her precious relationship with Ned. Will Evie find a way to solve the problem and keep all she holds dear? With Christmas approaching, the women of Rookery House and Great Plumstead are busy facing the challenges of wartime while doing their best to make the festive season happy for one and all.
