Prue is as busy as ever, finding homes for evacuees while worrying about her sons, Jack and Edwin, who are involved in key Allied battles overseas. A chance to work with the WVS in London leads to unexpected - but not unwelcome - consequences. Meanwhile Hettie must dig deep to deal with a tragic situation and support a Land Girl in crisis. As the war rumbles on into yet another year, the residents of Great Plumstead are faced with ever more challenges. Friendship, strong community spirit and support for each other will help them through.
