'Supernatural, yet plausible fiction is incredibly difficult to get right but CS Green manages it with ease, and, with Rose, has also managed to create a credible and likeable main character. The book is beautifully paced with a gorgeous dollop of humour and although I love this series you could easily read 'Down Among the Dead' as a first introduction to the fascinating world of a very unusual police department.'
