Dreams from Snow

Synopsis

In the digital age, your children are never truly home. When a fourteen-year-old girl vanishes on her way home from a school movie night, the illusion of safety in Kronviken is shattered. Her body is discovered the next morning in the frozen forest - a lifeless victim of a predator who lured her with a lethal offer: 'We're looking for the right face to front our new make-up collection. I'd like to get together and take a few pictures. This will be our secret.' As Detective Inspector Maria Wern digs into the girl's digital footprints, she realizes the killer is already hunting his next 'face.' When a second girl disappears, the town's grief curdles into a violent, panicked thirst for vengeance. With the media branding the police as incompetent and local vigilantes targeting the outcasts of society, Maria is fighting two wars - one against a digital predator who leaves no trace, and another against a community ready to burn everything down in the name of justice. In a race against an escalating crisis, Maria must find the monster in the shadows before the town's rage claims more innocent lives than the killer ever could. 'Scary, yet fascinating. And totally brilliant.' - Eskilstuna kuriren/Strengnäs tidning / SWE 'The strength of Anna Jansson lies in the nuances of the darkness... Both the murder weapon and the story behind it is among the most original I've ever heard of.' - Upsala nya tidning / SWE
