New Rock New Rules

Synopsis

Book Three in the highly acclaimed epic fantasy New Rock series.Fleeing a hostile land in a stolen ship, Battlemage Daxx and his team (dual-wielding sword-dancer Qrysta, heavily armed Orc Grell and sneakthief Oller, with his mutt companion Little Guy) have no time to celebrate before they are off on their next quest. Daxx needs to rid himself of the ailment he contracted while overseas before it consumes him from within—but it seems that there is no cure for it.Meanwhile, an entitled, arrogant enemy, who is far more powerful than they are, threatens their peaceful realm with annihilation. Cryptic lines told them by a Coven seer hold the answers—but how to make head or tail of them? Their paths take them into the heart of a hostile empire in the far south and to the Valley of the Moon in the frozen north. But they only have a few short months to avoid disaster. Challenge after challenge confronts them—including a face-off against Ogres at their national sport on an ice lake.Told with his customary wit, Richard Sparks’ skillful storytelling weaves a tapestry of adventure, mystery, suspense and emotional depth—with plenty of comic moments spicing up events as they progress.Memorable characters, imaginative settings and challenging quests all combine to make the New Rock series an unforgettable addition to the genre. New Rock New Roads, Book Four in the series, will be published in November 2026 by CAEZIK SF&F.
