Claire McGowan

Claire McGowan is a Northern Irish author of crime fiction and psychological thrillers. She also writes as Eva Woods. She grew up in a small village near the border during the Troubles and this experience informs much of her fiction. Blackwater is one of her gripping crime novels — dark, twisting thrillers often set in Ireland and exploring the legacy of violence, secrets, and the past that won't stay buried. McGowan is also a creative writing teacher and the author of fiction-writing guides. Her audiobooks and books offer listeners and readers dark, atmospheric crime fiction rooted in Ireland — thrillers where the past is never truly past.
