The plot is intense and although I’m a big fan of this author’s other books. I should alert the squeamish reader that there are graphic descriptions of death to navigate. The narrator has a beautiful reading voice in general and her interpretation of the main character is flawless, so I was greatly enjoying the first chapters of the story. However, when a group of additional characters are introduced at once, and perhaps in a noble attempt to clearly individualize them for the listener, she uses exaggerated, almost cartoonish accents/voices for several of the minor characters, particularly the Americans, which I found distracting.

I didn't like the narrator's voices, very weird and a little hard to understand
